Hello Guys...
in this session, im gonna share some idioms that i knew and some i just found it and copy to save by myself and to share for everyone
so enjoy :)         

Evening twitter friends. Thursday night is English idiom night! Let’s learn some English idioms, shall we? ;)

"Once in a blue moon"
means someone or something that unusual to happen
atau in indonesia, its Sesuatu yang Jarang Terjadi


"Spill the beans"
means something to break the secret
in indonesian is Membocorkan atau mengungkapkan masalah


"When the Going gets though, the though get going"
Another interpretation could mean, "Those who act tough and proud will vacate a situation when it becomes difficult lest they be proven not as tough as they appear to be."

Yet another interpretation could mean, "When the situation becomes almost impossible, those who are truly strong are wise enough to pull out, rather than being totally decimated."


“Live and let live.” Arti: menerima org lain sbgmn adanya mrk, walaupun mgkn cara hidup mrk berbeda. “Let us live and let live.”



“Earn a living.” Arti: bekerja mencari uang atau nafkah. “Everybody needs to earn a living to live a decent life.”

A: @bramkomunikasi hi Brahmandias. Yep, you’re supposed to say: “My father has earned a living through his life.”

“From scratch.” Arti: memulai dr awal, mencapai sst tanpa bermodal byk. “He built his company from scratch. Now he’s successful.”

“A piece of cake.” Arti: sst yg sangat mudah dilakukan. “The English test was a piece of cake. It took me 15 minutes to do it.”

“Blow your own horn.” Arti: memamerkan prestasi & kemampuan diri sendiri. “She never listens. She always blows her own horn.”

“Feeling blue.” Arti: merasa kurang sehat, terutama berhubungan dgn perasaan sedih & depresi. “He’s feeling blue after she left.”

“An eyesore.” Arti: sst yg secara visual terlihat sangat jelek. “His outfit is such an eyesore. It’s so ugly!”

“Like pulling teeth.” Arti: situasi dmn sangat sulit mendapat yg kita inginkan dr ssorg. “Talking to him is like pulling teeth.”

“Steal the show.” Arti: mencuri perhatian semua orang. “The band performed really well that they stole the show last night.”

“Music to my ears.” Arti: perkataan yg sangat ingin kamu dengar. “His boyfriend’s words are music to her ears.”

A: @andreasalice slang biasanya berupa kata/frase yg digunakan anak muda & biasanya pula tdk sesuai dgn aturan grammar/ejaan yg benar. idiom adlh frase yg menggunakan grammar/ejaan yg benar namun memiliki arti yg sama sekali berbeda dgn arti harfiahnya.

Off the chain.” = slang. RT @niko_nn: “outside the box” atau “off the cain” artinya punya ide yg brilian, orisinal dan gak biasa. CMIIW :)
